I am writing as your constituent to ask that you call on the Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary to do everything in their power to ensure a permanent end to Israel’s genocide in Gaza, full humanitarian access, and a just, sustainable peace for Palestinians.

Over the past two years, the Israeli military has systematically dismantled Gaza’s healthcare system. More than 1,700 healthcare workers have been killed, and more than 300 detained. Almost every single hospital in Gaza has been attacked and none remain fully functional.

A ceasefire deal is a glimmer of hope and a moment of relief – but even when the bombs stop falling, Palestinian lives are still critically endangered by starvation, injury, lack of shelter and water, and the near-total collapse of Gaza’s healthcare system.

The UK Government cannot look away. Its legal and moral obligations have not changed. All perpetrators must be held accountable and a pause in hostilities in Gaza cannot come at the expense of increased violence in the West Bank. Justice and accountability are the only path to a sustainable peace.

The UK must do all it can to ensure it ceases this opportunity to finally bring an end to the status quo of Israel’s systematic violations of international law, atrocities against Palestinians, and illegal occupation.

As my MP, I ask that you please write to the Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary, and continue to use your voice in Parliament, to ask that they urgently:

Suspend all arms transfers to Israel, including parts for F-35 fighter jets, and end all military cooperation with Israel.

Take meaningful legal, diplomatic and economic action to hold all perpetrators accountable and end Israel’s impunity.

Take all possible steps to bring an end to Israel’s unlawful occupation.

The UK must ensure that this ceasefire deal marks the beginning of a future where Palestinians’ rights to health, dignity, and self-determination are fully realised. I feel strongly that this is one of the defining moral crises of our generation – and it demands your voice.
